Still in the Game: My Three Decade Blueprint for Longevity in the Music Industry.
The show always goes on, but at what cost?
I’ve spent 27 seasons in the music industry. I’ve lived the 20 hour days, the stadium builds, and the adrenaline fueled chaos of a tour camp that never sleeps. I wouldn't trade it for anything! My high functioning ADHD found its home in this intensity. But after nearly three decades, I’ve seen the wreckage of those who didn't have a strategy for the comedown.
I’m not talking about "losing the spark." I’m talking about heart disease, diabetes, triggered mental illness, and the slow erosion of every meaningful relationship outside the production office. I’ve been there. I’ve had the breakups because I couldn't give a partner what they needed. I’ve missed the holidays, the family emergencies, and the trips I’ll never get back because I was at a gig.
Resilience isn’t a buzzword. It’s a physical skill.
Most people in entertainment think resilience is just pushing harder. But unmanaged stress physiology eventually demands a payment you can't afford.
My turning point was a literal fight for my life. On August 18, 2024, the day before my 25th business anniversary, I fought a raccoon to save my dog, Sonnie. On the day of my business anniversary, we were sitting on the couch in shock. He was covered in stitches and bandages; a sweet little gangster who fought back viciously. My right thumb was shredded and I had no idea what would happen with my career.
Because I’m allergic to painkillers, I had to rawdog the rabies shots which were injected directly into the wounds while I was biting down on a towel with nothing but ibuprofen in my system. I sat on my couch on the day of my anniversary, bandaged up, staring at a career that felt like it was over. Turns out… I couldn't hardly massage for seven months.
But sitting there, I realized this wasn't my first tragedy. I survived the 2000 economic bubble burst, the housing market crash, two devastating breakups, and several costly entrepreneurial failures.
Those crashes were my education. Combined with my UCSD neuroscience training and 27 years of touring, they gave me the tools to pivot. I’ve spent the last year and a half working my ass off, sacrificing everything to build the resources this industry actually needs. I want you to stay in this career for as long as your heart desires too!
The Strategy for 2026: Tactical Regulation
Nobody backstage has five minutes to meditate. But we all have 30 to 90 seconds. I am an industry leader in an environment that is only just beginning to wake up to mental health. I don't offer "wellness." I offer tactical regulation for high performers who are done playing small.
How to Work With Me:
Corporate Team Workshops: I train production teams, tour camps, and corporate businesses to train teams on real time stress regulation. We stop the stress contagion before it breaks your budget or your crew.
1-1 Mentoring & Consultations: For the high achiever who needs a proven strategy to navigate the pressure without self-destruction.
Keynote Speaking: I bring the Rock n Roll Healer perspective to the big stage, blending neuroscience with 27 years of backstage reality to shift how your organization views performance.
The Holistic Adventure Retreat: This is the deep overhaul. Our next stop is El Salvador, March 3–8, 2027. This is for those who are ready to stop surviving and start leading from a place of regulated power.
I’ve lived the chaos and I’ve persevered. I’ve leveled up my career because I mastered the art of regulation. Now, it’s your turn. Together, we can keep it real and keep it YOU!
Longevity is a choice. Make it.
